Spell Crafting Detailed

Spell Crafting Detailed

As you will see more spell crafting can be very involved indeed.

Spell Structure.

I. Understand exactly what it is you wish to accomplish during spell crafting and know how to word it. Know exactly what you want before you undertake a spell. If you can’t state precisely, in 15-20 words or less, or visualize precisely what you expect to manifest from the spell, you’re not ready to proceed with it. Don’t be vague. Many a witch has manifested results that were exactly what was asked for, not what was truly desired for. Once you have clearly defined what you want, decide what words you will use to verbalize this magickal desire and the visualization. You may use rhyme or prose, just be sure you use the present tense, and write it down and/or memorize it.
II. Start visualizing the process towards the ends. Start seeing the process from where you are now to what your situation will be like once the magickal goal is manifest. It is important to remember not to dictate how the goal will manifest, just how your situation will change and improve when it does. Likewise, don’t visualize taking from someone else to fulfil your need. This is a violation of the Rede, and will never work to your ultimate good.
III. Decide which magickal tools you will use (if any) to help draw the energies of your goal to you. If you want to be totally precise and anal look at the Wheel of the Month for the correct Moon phase, the correct Correspondence Tables to decide which Astrological, Planetary, Day, Hour, Elemental, Colour, Stone, Incense, Herbal, and Essential Oil attributes are appropriate for your magickal goal. You may choose to use as many or as few as you desire.
IV. Have everything you need in the appropriate place at the appropriate time. Your magick could be lessened if you have to leave the sacred space of the circle to retrieve forgotten items.

V. Purify your space and yourself.

VI. Cast your Circle.
VII. Ground and Centre yourself. Do this by pulling your energy into a line running through the centre of your body that is anchored into the Earth. Clear your mind of all errant thoughts so you can focus on the task at hand.
VIII. Begin visualizing your goal and raising magickal energy. Concentrate and start your visualization; the one that you perfected in step one. Take your time and recall it in vivid detail. Start raising magickal energy. Witches call this energy the “Cone of Power“, as it rises up above them in the shape of an inverted cone. Do this by dancing, singing, visualizing, chanting, or any combination you desire.
IX. Perform the Actual Spell. Use the tools, words, actions, and anything else required. If you make a slight mistake, worry not, just continue. If you feel you have made a major mistake, stop right there and begin grounding the energy you’ve raised into Mother Earth. It is better to proceed than stop. Partially cast spells tend to manifest chaotically.
X. Release the Cone of Power. Even after the spell is finished, you may continue to build up the energy you have been raising. When you feel you can’t raise any more energy, release it physically, by exhaling or throwing your arms up; and mentally, by seeing it go outward from you to do its work.
XI. Formally end the spell with an affirmative phrase such as “It is So”, or, “So Mote It Be”. Any residual energy you feel around you at this point should be grounded into Mother Earth.

XII. Close your Circle.

XIII. Enter the details of your magickal workings in your Book of Shadows. Include the day, date, time, tools used, actual spell, and any comments or observations you have.
XIV. Work your spell in the mundane world as well. This means taking whatever actions are necessary in your everyday, physical world to aid the manifestation of your spell. This includes continuing to visualize your goal.
XV. Repeat the spell. This is at your discretion, but “more” is not always “better”. Piling spell atop spell will likely cancel the previous spells out. Some witches wait three months before repeating a spell.
X. Breaking the Spell. It has been my experience that once something is cast, it will run its course to an extent, even if you “break the spell”. Energies you set in motion are going to manifest; breaking the spell allows you to control to some degree how much of those energies manifest.more spell crafting
To break a spell, cast your Circle and call upon the energies of the spell to return to you. You must then ground those energies into Mother Earth. You may use the sequence of steps above to construct a spell for breaking other spells.

How To Hug a Tree

how to hug a tree

How To Hug a Tree place in your book of shadows

I know many of you out there are laughing right now, but if you really knew my family you would understand completely.

My sister (with whom I share a birthday only 16 years apart) has on more than one occasion killed a tree hugging it. Okay stop laughing, it’s true. If you are in poor health or your body it’s self needs repairing do not, I repeat NO NOT hug a tree. It just might feel sorry for you and give you its last fighting chance to survive. I have seen it happen twice, both times with my sister.

How To Hug a Tree

You’ve heard the phrase before, but have you ever taken a moment out of your day to do this? Although some trees, like people, are more huggable than others, they all need a hug now and again.

Difficulty: Easy
Time required: 10 to 30 minutes
here’s how:

Find yourself a quiet park, forest, or woodland area.
Walk among the trees until you feel comfortable in their presence.
Feel the different bark textures with the palms of your hands.
Smell the scent of the various woods.
Absorb their life’s energies as you look upwards to the sprawling branches overhead.
Find the perfect tree that fits your mood. You will know which one is right for you.
Vertical Tree Hug: Encircle it with your arms while gently pressing your cheek to the trunk being careful not to scratch your face. Squeeze tightly. Sigh deeply. Be one with your tree.
Full Body Tree Hug: Sit upon the ground wrapping your legs around the base of the tree and at the same time embracing it with your arms.
Up in the Air Tree Hug: Climb a tree. Sit upon a strong limb and straddle it with your legs. Bend forward and place your belly against it while wrapping your arms about it.

Feel free to hug more than one tree if the mood strikes. Besides, other trees might get jealous. You may like to take home a fallen leaf or nut as a keepsake from your new friend.
Be sure to return each season to visit your tree. And don’t be afraid to talk to it as trees are good listeners.

Solitary Full Moon Ritual

Solitary Full Moon Ritual

This Solitary Full Moon Ritual A ritual that I have performed many times and always look forward to the next time.

A must for your Book Of Shadows.

The ritual can be performed indoors as well as out.

Try to have a type of representation of the Full Moon floating in the water, it may be made of white paper or use a white flower, so long as you cannot see its reflection.

Items you will need:

A bowl of water

White paper Moon or a White flower

Raise the bowl towards the Moon in the sky and

Say these words;

‘Hail to thee white swan on the river. Present

life, tide turner, moving

through the streams of life, all hail.

Mother of old and new days, to you, through

you, this night we cling to

your aura.

Pure reflection, total in belief, touched by

Your presence, I am in your

power and wisdom. I praise

Your power, your peace, my power, my

peace. I am strong, I praise, I bless.’

Replace the bowl on your altar. Stand for a few moments while appreciating the power of the Moon.

A nice little poem for you below:

The Don’t Quit Poem

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow–
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor’s cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out–
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit
It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Samhain divination’s to try

samhain divinations

Samhain divination’s to try and place in your book of shadows maybe

Samhain was a significant time for divination, perhaps even more so than May or Midsummer’s Eve, because this was the chief of the three Spirit Nights.

Samhain divination's to tryDivination customs and games frequently featured apples and nuts from the recent harvest, and candles played an important part in adding atmosphere to the mysteries.

In Scotland, a child born at Samhain was said to be gifted with an dà shealladh, “The Two Sights” commonly known as “second sight,” or clairvoyance.

Apple Magic

At the heart of the Celtic Otherworld grows an apple tree whose fruit has magical properties. Old sagas tell of heroes crossing the western sea to find this wondrous country, known in Ireland as Emhain Abhlach, (Evan Avlach) and in Britain, Avalon. At Samhain, the apple harvest is in, and old hearthside games, such as apple-bobbing, called apple-dookin’ in Scotland, reflect the journey across water to obtain the magic apple.

Dookin’ for Apples

Place a large tub, preferably wooden, on the floor, and half fill it with water. Tumble in plenty of apples, and have one person stir them around vigorously with a long wooden spoon or rod of hazel, ash or any other sacred tree.

Each player takes their turn kneeling on the floor, trying to capture the apples with their teeth as they go bobbing around. Each gets three tries before the next person has a go. Best to wear old clothes for this one, and have a roaring fire nearby so you can dry off while eating your prize!
If you do manage to capture an apple, you might want to keep it for a divination ritual, such as this one:

The Apple and the Mirror

Before the stroke of midnight, sit in front of a mirror in a room lit only by one candle or the moon. Go into the silence, and ask a question. Cut the apple into nine pieces. With your back to the mirror, eat eight of the pieces and then throw the ninth over your left shoulder. Turn your head to look over the same shoulder, and you will see and in image or symbol in the mirror that will tell you your answer.

(When you look in the mirror, let your focus go “soft,” and allow the patterns made by the moon or candlelight and shadows to suggest forms, symbols and other dreamlike images that speak to your intuition.)

Dreaming Stones

Samhain divination's to tryGo to a boundary stream and with closed eyes, take from the water three stones between middle finger and thumb, saying these words as each is gathered: samhain divinations .

I will lift the stone
As Mary lifted it for her Son,
For substance, virtue, and strength;
May this stone be in my hand
Till I reach my journey’s end.

(Scots Gaelic)
Togaidh mise chlach,
Mar a thog Moire DA Mac,
Air bhrìgh, air bhuaidh, ‘s air neart;
Gun robh a chlachsa am dhòrn,
Gus an ruig MI MO cheann uidhe.

Carry them home carefully and place them under your pillow. That night, ask for a dream that will give you guidance or a solution to a problem, and the stones will bring it for you.

Divination Introduction

Divination Introduction

Welcome to the Divination section of our website

The ancient art of Divination goes back for as long as anyone can remember and is just as popular today as it has ever been.

With a little patients, help and guidance anyone can learn this ancient practice to enrich their future life style.

Please don’t think that a complete novice can learn the art of divination in five minutes.

I remember when I first started with divination and I must admit it did take a while for me to get the hang of it. The main aspect to remember here is practice makes perfect, please don’t be put off if your first attempts are fruitless.

We all have to start somewhere so once you have all your magical tools and a quiet room learn as you go along; you can always put your results in your book of shadows for future reference. This is where the divination section will come in very useful through the content in the drop down boxes under this post, failing that you could always contact the mentor of this website/blog for further enlightenment.
